Major Russian Strikes Eliminate Power Across Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have faced escalating strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were wounded while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and dealt with disruption to drinking water, per reports from city officials.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was killed in a distinct assault in the southeastern region in the southern area, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has escalated assaults on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while the country's government has demanded "concrete actions" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not window dressing but strong steps - from the United States, the EU and the G7 - in supplying air defence systems and implementing restrictions," he wrote in a public message.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and more than 30 projectiles attacked energy facilities, labeling such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were working to repair systems.

A series of attacks hit energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by city authorities.

Regional authorities said the city endured heavy assaults throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child lost their life and three other people were injured.

The attacks succeed evenings of bombing campaigns in the area, parts of which remain under the control of invading troops.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to spot.

Government officials told the media that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the country's energy grid, with strikes already affecting gas facilities.

Officials stated energy workers and authorities were anticipating more assaults.
